This week we started to straighten out our ideas and thoughts pertaining to our identity project. Working in a pair has really helped me in my learning and understanding this week because it brings in another opinion and is not just a reflection of my project formula. Our question is; "Is Resillience enough to break the stereotypes?". I chose this question because I am affected by stereotypes on a somewhat often basis. "The smart kid", "Nerd", "Geek", "Techy", "Gamer", Those are some of the words that are used to describe me and who I am. Although I am not a fat sofa ridden guy who had fingertips encrusted with cheeto/dorito dust, I take those words kindly because they are who I am. Sometimes the negative connotations than come with those stereotypes get in my head but it works out fine. They are just jealous. In explaining and organizing our notes and ideas, we used the cornell note taking strategy for identity, some text rendering and trait finding for some short stories, and finally a pre-write that brings all of the ideas together and gives us as a group a step-by-step for our presentation next week. This project is somewhat interesting, mainly because of the lack of direction and I am not so sure I enjoy it, although we do get a lot of freedom which I enjoy. Identity project preparation this week, presentation next, can't wait. Link:www.simplypsychology.org/katz-braly.html
